Nor'easters clinch third straight Mid-Atlantic Division title
Reading United's 1-1 draw with Real Central NJ clinches division for Ocean City
The Ocean City Nor'easters have clinched a third straight Mid-Atlantic Division title. After Saturday night's 1-1 draw between Reading United AC and Real Central New Jersey, it has punched Ocean City's ticket to the USL League Two postseason.
With the division title, the Storm (8-1-0) will qualify for the USL-2 playoffs for the fourth year in a row.
Now, four teams in the division (West Chester United, Reading United AC, Real Central New Jersey and Philadelphia Lone Star FC) will battle it out for second place. The second place team will qualify for a play-in game for the playoffs.
The Nor'easters have clinched the division with three games left to play. Ocean City returns to action on Wednesday, July 3 on the road against Philadelphia Lone Star FC (3-5-1) at Widener University. It is the last road game of the regular season and the Storm will enter the contest riding a club record 25-game road unbeaten streak. Kickoff is scheduled for 6 p.m.
Ocean City’s next home game will be on Sunday, July 7 against long-time rival Reading United AC at Carey Stadium in Ocean City, N.J. “America’s Greatest Family Resort.” Then, the Storm will close out the regular season at home against West Chester United on July 13.
