Nor'easters Prepare For US Soccer National Amateur Championships

Nor'easters vs Sonoma County Sol in first semi-final

The Ocean City Nor'easters have been drawn against Sonoma County Sol from California in the US Soccer National Amateur Championships will take place near Baltimore, Maryland May 22-25 at Arundel High School, the home of the WPSL’s Chesapeake Charge. On the other side of the tournament are 2011 winners RWB Adria and NTX Rayados.

The Nor'easters are excited to be taking part in the tournament for the first time and are aiming to leave their mark on the national US soccer landscape, "This is a wonderful opportunity for our boys to show the nation how good they are" said Nor'easters President Giancarlo Granese, "Our players are top quality, it will be a tough competition but it will be great to see if Coach Tim Oswald can take them to the Championship".

The Nor'easters beat last years champions Carolina Dynamo on their march to the USL PDL Eastern Conference Championship in 2013.

“The success of last year’s event has everyone on edge to see the teams back on the pitch,” US Adult Soccer Executive Director Duncan Riddle said. “We’re excited to bring the US Soccer National Amateur Championships to Baltimore, and I look forward to seeing some great competition Memorial Day weekend.”
