Ocean City, NJ - The Nor’easters 2025 USL League Two schedule has been announced. 2025 marks the club's 28th year in existence and 22nd year in the USL Pyramid. The United Soccer League is the largest and fastest growing soccer organization in the country. Since the mid 90’s, USL League Two has been the elite pre-professional tier in North American soccer. The Nor’easters have been one of the most successful and competitive clubs since joining the league in 2003. Last season, the Storm completed a historic ‘Three-Peat’ of the Mid-Atlantic Division, and will attempt to set a new division record this year by winning four titles in a row. New this year, the recently announced Nor’easter’s USL-Academy team will face off with division mates Real Central New Jersey and Reading United’s USL-A teams, the same day the first teams clash. Let’s take a look ahead at what this exciting season holds for Ocean City.
All games are scheduled for 7pm unless otherwise noted.
There are 3 games in May to start the campaign.
The 2025 Season and Home Opener will be held in America's Greatest Family Resort at Carey Stadium on Friday, May 23rd. The Nor’easters will host Real Central New Jersey. This matchup marks the 3rd time both teams have met in a season opener. In those 3 matches, the Storm have won twice and drawn once. Ocean City found success in the two Intra-New Jersey matchups last season, winning by a combined score of 7-1. In fact, the Storm have never lost to RCNJ across 10 all-time meetings (7-0-3).
Wednesday, May 28th will see Ocean City make the 100 plus mile trek out to Bethlehem, PA to battle Lehigh Valley United in their first away game of 2025. The Nor’easters have a history of winning in this matchup, only losing twice in 20 games all-time. With the last Lehigh win coming on May 29th, 2019, the Storm have won 10 straight, only conceding 7 goals in those games. Additionally, Ocean City will come into this game riding a club record, 6 year, road unbeaten streak of 26 games.
Their next game will see the Nor’easters face a new regular season opponent for the first time since the 2021 season. On Saturday, May 31st Ocean City will welcome expansion club Delaware FC to the Beach House for the first ever match between the two teams. The most recent Delaware team in the Mid-Atlantic was the Delaware Dynasty, who last played back in 2007.
June will start with a road trip for the team.
The Nor’easters will face off with two of their closest rivals in a thrilling 5 day period. The team will travel to back-to-back away games first on Friday, June 6th at Reading which will be followed by a match versus West Chester on Tuesday, June 10th in Wayne, PA.
The Ocean City versus Reading contest is the oldest active rivalry in the entire USL pyramid. It stretches all the way back to 1997, when both clubs were members of the old USISL D3 Pro League. The Nor’easters have a narrow lead in the all-times series which sits at 25-23-11. OC is undefeated in 9 of the last 10 games against Reading. The teams split their two contests in 2024. The Nor’easters won 3-0 on Alvernia Field but Reading snapped their winless run in the fixture with a 2-1 victory at Carey Stadium.
Although WCU has only been in the Mid-Atlantic since 2021, the quality they possess means their matches with the Storm are no less heated. Last year’s games featured some wild moments, including an impressive 3-1 Nor’easters win at YSC Sports and a controversial 1-0 United win at the Beach House. Ocean City also holds a slight advantage in the all time series, with the overall record at 7-5-2 in the Storm’s favor.
The rest of June features 3 more games.
A Saturday home contest against Lehigh on the 14th is quickly followed by a trip up to Rider University to play RCNJ on the 18th. OC will return to action the following week with a home rivalry matchup with West Chester on Saturday the 28th.
The Nor’easters will close out the regular season with a flurry of games in early July.
Wednesday, July 2nd marks the second meeting between the Nor'easters and Delaware FC. It will be the Storm’s first trip to the First State since May 12, 2007. DFC will be playing in the town of Lewes, which is connected to New Jersey via the Cape May-Lewes Ferry line. The ferry line is one of only two direct crossings between Jersey and Delaware.
The Storm will then return home to host Reading, in a game that will likely have playoff implications, on Sunday, July 6th before hitting the road for the season’s 3rd match against RCNJ that Wednesday, July, 9th.
The Regular Season Finale will be held at the Beach House on Saturday, July 12th and will see Ocean City face off against Delaware FC for the third and final time.
