Ocean City Nor'easter Josh Jones (Hatfield, PA / Louisville) was named the USL-2 Player of the Month for June.

He earned this selection after a stellar month which saw him appear in 6 games for the Storm, amassing 610 minutes. He helped keep 2 clean sheets and scored 5 goals along the way to a 5-1 record and a Mid-Atlantic Division title. Additionally, he is one of the team’s captains.

Jones comes from a small town north of Philadelphia. After helping lead North Penn High to the 2019 4A Pennsylvania State Championship and appearing in the USYS National Championship with club team Ukrainian Nationals, he took his talents to the University of Louisville. There he became a starter and has since amassed 54 appearances, contributing 8 goals and 4 assists. He was selected to the All-ACC Third-Team in 2023. His performance and potential were recognized by MLS club Real Salt Lake and in December of last year, Jones was drafted in the 2nd round of the MLS Superdraft. Jones opted to return to Louisville to play in his last year of eligibility and finish his degree.

Jones provided this quote about his POTM selection, “It’s a tremendous honor, but no individual award is possible without the team's success. Our back line had been outstanding all season long and they also deserve the praise. It’s been a great year so far and looking forward to seeing this group make a deep run in the playoffs”.
