"Gio is a special player when the ball is at his feet. He can be a bit of a formation killer in that he rarely stays in a defined role and tends to spray the ball around with precision. As a seasoned PDL player, we are looking for him to take on an even bigger role this season in a midfield system that benefits his biggest strengths."
Gio is a young central midfielder with great technique and decision-making under pressure, an old head on young shoulders. He has been eased into the Nor’easters first team over the past two years playing 8 games, these numbers would have been higher but for an injury hit 2011. In 2009 Mt. Laurel, NJnative was an ever present member of the U20 Men’s team, stepping up to the PDL team 3 times as his stock continued to rise. At Division I school IonaCollege he is an important cog in the center of that machine as the teams key playmaker, he continues to impress with his maturity and technical ability, as well as his good defensive strengths. 2012 promises to be a great season for Gio as he has the confidence of the coaching staff behind him, knowing that, with a bit of luck and a lot of hard work, he could really achieve great things personally in soccer and for the Nor’easters. Gio was selected for the Super Y-League National Team as a young player and continues to push on in the game.
