Nor'easters prepare for 2019 season with exhibition game tonight at Beach House

The opening game for the Ocean City Nor'easters' 2019 USL League Two season is coming up this weekend. The Storm play in one of the best and most competitive divisions in the entire league. In an effort to prepare for that, they have scheduled a quality opponent for an exhibition game ahead of Saturday's season opener at FA Euro New York.

Tonight, the Nor'easters will host FC Monmouth, a team from the National Premier Soccer League (NPSL). The game will take place at Carey Stadium ("The Beach House") in Ocean City, N.J. Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m.

FC Monmouth is a second-year NPSL club who enjoyed a strong inaugural season last year. FCM had a 6-3-1 record and qualified for the playoffs, where they fell to FC Motown, the team that lost the league championship game. They play their home games in Red Bank, N.J.

Ocean City will be lead by their new head coach Kevin Nuss, who took over for Tim Oswald, who had to step down due to medical concerns. Nuss will bring a strong roster in the 2019 campaign, with many of them likely to feature in this warm-up match.

"The first couple of training sessions have gone well," said Nuss. "The boys have worked hard to establish a high-tempo, attacking style of play."

He added: "Monmouth is a top team and will give us an opportunity to test ourselves as we prepare for this weekend's season opener."

All tickets are general admission for $10 each and can be purchased at the Carey Stadium box office. The club also just announced 2019 ticket packages for groups and birthday parties, as well as free tickets available to all soccer coaches. Click HERE for details.
