The Ocean City Nor’easters have seen a number of players take their game to the next level to make professional careers out of the game that they love. During the 2015 season, 13 Ocean City alums were playing in the United Soccer Leagues, and many of them made major contributions. In all, those 13 players played in 191 games, logging 12,543 minutes, scoring 26 goals and dishing out 12 assists.

The camp is the first step in preparation for Olympic qualifying which will begin this October.

Along with his Nor’easters players, coach Tim Oswald is enjoying a hugely successful college season this year as his Rutgers-Camden team had reached the final of the NCAA Division III Men’s Soccer Championship whilst maintaining an undefeated record for the season. After a 4-0 victory over Lycoming College, Rutgers-Camden go into the Sweet 16’s. This spectacular run of form continued as they beat York, PA 3-1 and Montclair State 2-1 that sent them to San Antonio for the Final Four and left the team ranked first in their region and second in the nation by NCAA and d3soccer.com respectively on the back of a 36 game unbeaten streak (31-0-5) with this season’s record standing at 22-0-2.

On September 28th Tennessee Avenue fields in Ocean City will see the Nor’easters host the annual Betsy Young Memorial game, as a Nor’easters XI take on a team of selected Ocean City Residents. All proceeds from the game will go towards this year’s selected charity; Project Inspiration, a scheme which seeks to encourage children in Ocean City to get involved in the arts through free sessions in the fields of Musical Theatre, Art and Music amongst others.

The 2013 season saw the Ocean City Nor’easters complete the most successful season in the history of the franchise as they stormed to the Mid-Atlantic Division with a 11-2-1 record before sealing the Eastern Conference Championship with a comprehensive 3-1 victory against Ottawa Fury and going on to play in the National PDL Championships in Texas.

A brilliant strike by Sito Seoane lifted the Austin Aztex to a 1-0 victory against the Ocean City Nor’easters in the semifinals of the 2013 PDL Championship. Seoane scored early in the second half to send a crowd of 3,062 at House Park into celebration and put his side through to face the Thunder Bay Chill in the PDL Championship game on Sunday night.

It was yet another picture postcard evening in Ocean City, NJ and a most beautiful surrounding to host one of the major fixtures on the USL PDL calendar. The game lived up to the expectations with the Nor’easters winning 3-1 over Ottawa Fury to advance to the USL PDL National Final Four to be held in Austin, TX.

The Ocean City Nor’easters were selected to host the 2013 USL PDL Eastern Conference playoffs in Ocean City, NJ. The four teams are Ocean City Nor’easters (hosting) Ottawa Fury, Reading United and Carolina Dynamo. Apart from Reading United who finished 3rd in the Mid-Atlantic Division, qualifying after beating 2nd place Baltimore Bohemians in a play in game, all the teams won their division.

A poor first half in terms of excitement was turned on it’s head during the second 45 minutes plus injury time. This compelling game ended in the most surprising circumstances with the Baltimore Bohemians goalkeeper Zachery Kane got the winning goal with a flicked header deep into injury time to make the final score 3-2 to Baltimore.

The Nor’easters and Frank Tweneboa put on a show for the Nor’easters faithful at Carey Stadium. Three goals from Tweneboa and one each from Ken Tribbett and substitute Timothy Mulgrew gave the 3 points to the home team. The usual free-flowing exciting soccer was coupled with possession with a purpose as the Nor’easters moved forward as a team and found the net with freedom.
