The Philadelphia Kixx captured their second MISL championship on Saturday with a 13-8 win over the expansion Detroit Ignition. Playing in Detroit, Kixx player/manager Don D’Ambra scored two goals, including a three-pointer in the 4th quarter to put the game out of reach. D’Ambra was also awarded MVP.

The Kixx feature three former Ocean City Barons, Tony Donatelli (Glenside, PA - Temple University), Steven Wacker (Philadelphia, PA - Temple University) and Patrick Hannigan (Philadelphia, PA - Temple University). Donatelli and Hannigan have made the best of their first season in the MISL. Donatelli finished tied for fourth on the team in scoring with 17 goals (two of them 3-pointers) and nine assists. Hannigan spent the season backing up Peter Pappas, who won his third Goalkeeper of the Year award this season. Tony and Pat were both named to the MISL All-Rookie Team. Wacker, in his third season with the Kixx, scored four goals in 19 games.
