Nor'easters Prepare For PDL Season Opener On Sunday

Team Travelling To Long Island Rough Riders Looking To Start Campaign With a Win

2013 Mid-Atlantic Division and Eastern Conference champions the Ocean City Nor'easters will be looking to kick-off the defense of their titles with a win on Sunday as they begin their league campaign with a visit to last year's 5th placed team, Long Island Rough Riders.  The Nor'easters will travel to Long Island looking for a repeat of last season's fixture which saw them turn around a 1-0 deficit at half time to win the game 3-1 after goals from Dwayne Reid, Frank Tweneboa and this season's captain Shawn McLaws.

After that victory Ocean City's franchise record against the 2011 Eastern Conference champions sits at 7-6-3 with last year's home game also being awarded to the Nor'easters as travel difficulties prevented Long Island coming down to the shore. It is always a close run game, 2012 also saw the two teams only play once, due to USL PDL scheduling with the Nor'easters running out 2-1 winners with goals from current players Emmanuel Kollie and Zoncher Dennis.

After the success of last season everyone at the Nor'easters is exicted to get the league season underway as we look to defend our titles in one of the toughest divisions in the country. Keep up to date with all the Nor'easters fixtures and results on our Facebook and Twitter accounts.
