The Ocean City Nor’easters put together their most complete effort of the season in an 8-0 thrashing of the Lehigh Valley United Sonic in a PDL Mid-Atlantic contest on Sunday night.

Nor’easters forward Khesanio Hall was the player of the game, registering a hat trick to continue to lead Ocean City offensively. Forwards John Manga and Ovan Oakley each tallied goals, along with midfielders Victor Araujo, Jorge Guinovart, and Alex Ridsdale.

Starting XI vs@lehighvalleyunitedsonic: (Front L-R) P. Delgado, D. Peterson, J. Guinovart, J. Manga, M.Lurie (C); (Back L-R) J. Aoyama, A. Morrison, E. Schoendorf, V. Araujo, K. Hall, T. Dobrowolski (GK)

Goalkeeper Tim Dobrowlski earned the win in net, posting a clean sheet and making two saves on three shots faced.

The Nor’easters outshot the Lehigh Valley United Sonic 16-3 on the night, with Lehigh Valley goaltender Logan Keys making five saves to keep the Nor’easters score at eight.

The Nor’easters had two opportunities to score in the early going with both Hall and Manga blasting shots just wide of the net.

In the 24th minute, the Nor’easters found the back of the net off the foot of Manga, who took a pass from midfielder Pau Delgado Rodriguez, slotting it into the net for the first goal of the game.

The Nor’easters consistently applied pressure for the remainder of the first half. Lehigh Valley was forced to play on their back foot, trying anything and everything to keep the Nor’easters from extending the lead.

For a while it worked, and the two teams appeared destined to head for halftime with the score sitting at 1-0.

However, in stoppage time of the first half, Hall scored his first goal of the game, chipping the ball over the goaltender to extend the Ocean City lead to 2-0 and sending the two teams to the locker room on a momentum swing.

The Nor’easters went right back at it in the second half and Lehigh Valley did not do anything to help themselves. The mistakes for Lehigh Valley compounded, and Araujo found himself with a golden opportunity to score and he did not miss.

The goal put the Nor’easters up comfortably, but there was no stopping them tonight.

Guinovart added a goal in the 62nd minute to put the Nor’easters up 4-0. Just four minutes later, midfielder Harry Swartz connected with Alex Ridsdale to make the game 5-0.

Hall continued his torrid offensive streak in the 76th minute, finding the net for his second goal of the game to make it a 6-0 game.

He was far from done, however.

In the 79th minute, Hall assisted on Oakley’s goal, making the score 7-0 in favor of the Nor’easters. Finally, in the 90th minute, Hall added his third goal of the game, completing the hat trick and sending the fans home happy with an 8-0 Nor’easters win. You can watch the full game replay here.

With the win, the Nor’easters now have 17 points in the PDL Mid-Atlantic Division, good for sixth place in the division. They only trail first place Long Island by five points.

The Nor’easters are back in action this coming Saturday at Carey Stadium in Ocean City against FA Euro. The game will feature the 6th Annual Mascot Race.
