Banks named to PDL Team of the Week

Sicklerville native scored GW goal vs. Richmond

For his game-winning goal last week against the Richmond Kickers Future and his solid defensive play, the Ocean City Barons’ Joe Banks (Drexel / Sicklerville, NJ) was named to the Premier Development League (PDL) Team of the Week. This marks the third straight week that Ocean City has had a player on the league’s weekly honor roll.

Joe Banks wins a header against the Richmond Kickers Future.

Banks, playing in his fifth season with the Barons, headed home the team’s second goal in the 55th minute of last weekend’s 3-1 win over Richmond. Adam Williamson’s corner kick would find the head of John Fletcher, who nodded the ball into the box where Banks would score his first goal since the 2006 season.

The Drexel graduate now has three career goals, and remains in fifth place on the Barons’ all-time minutes played list with 3,940.
