Barons duel with Dynasty

Game 2 of doubleheader puts 27-game home unbeaten streak on the line

Moments after the Barons' W-League affiliate, the South Jersey Banshees, do battle with the New Jersey Wildcats on Wednesday, the men's side will take on the Delaware Dynasty for the second time this season.

The game is a must-win for both clubs. A Barons victory will not only keep them alive in the Eastern Conference playoff hunt, but will also eliminate the Dynasty's post-season hopes.

The Dynasty are competing in their first season in the PDL and after a strong start, the PDL newcomers have struggled. The last time these two clubs met was back on June 17 when the Barons midfielder Rich Baker scored two goals in the final ten minutes to steal a point on the road. Delaware recently snapped a 3-game losing streak on Saturday when they defeated the Reading Rage 3-1.

Last Sunday, Ocean City found their offensive form against the Brooklyn Knights in the first of five straight home games for the Barons. They dominated the Knights 6-1, getting two goals and an assist from Byron Carmichael.

The Barons will put their 27-game regular season home unbeaten streak on the line as the second game of a doubleheader with the South Jersey Banshees. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. and there will not be an audio broadcast available.
